Disease and treatment history
- June 2018: Diagnosed with RMS, presented with optic neuritis and received IV steroid
- August 2018: Presented with worsening vision and leg weakness
- September 2018: Started treatment with an infusion DMT
Recent disease activity
- February 2019: Brain and spinal cord MRI scans were stable
- August 2019: Symptoms worsening, MRI scans showed 2 enhancing brain lesions and a new thoracic spine lesion with enhancement
- Given IV steroid for 5 days but continued to present with symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and leg weakness
- October 2019: EDSS = 2.0
Treatment plan
- Completed pre-screening assessments. Informed of the risk of teratogenicity and counseled regarding birth control requirements
- December 2019: Started treatment with MAVENCLAD
Treatment follow-up and outcomes
- May 2020: MRI scans showed no new lesions
- Patient reported no additional relapses†
